TMA took part in the business game of Rosprirodnadzor for the extended producer responsibility

Rosprirodnadzor, 26.12.2016

On December 26, 2016, the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources held a business game with representatives of manufacturers, importers, and their associations, during which the players had to fill out reporting documentation on fulfilment of the extended producer responsibility.

Also, within the framework of the business game, they discussed problematic issues on filling out reports and declaration for 2016 and the recommended form of the act for recycling products that lost their consumer properties.

The extended responsibility of manufacturers in full volume comes into effect from January 1, 2017. Producers and importers are obliged to either independently dispose their goods that have lost their consumer properties, or pay an environmental tax for it to the state. As Artem Sidorov, the Head of Rosprirodnadzor, noted earlier, “it is very important to understand that the EPR is not some kind of a new tax, but a normal stimulation of producers (including packaging and packaging materials) worldwide to reduce the negative impact on the environment”.

The next meeting of the working group on the implementation of waste disposal standards is planned for January 2017.
